Specialised manufacture of steel and pre-cast concrete structures
Currie Brothers employs a multi-skilled workforce which, together with our steel fabrication workshop and the ability to pre-cast concrete slabs, ensures that we are able to address and meet many of the challenges associated with both new build and refurbishment construction projects.
Examples of where these skills have been used include:
The frame for the marine tidal turbine installed by Open Hydro in Orkney waters.
The replacement of six ferry ramps for the Inner North Isles, where the extensive concrete works necessitated the manufacture of pre-cast concrete slabs that were manufactured on our premises, before being delivered and installed on-site.
The 6.5 tonne, 13 tonne and 21 tonne blocks made with ironore for EMEC for their sub sea mooring system.
Shuttering for large 'doughnut' shaped blocks for mooring devices for a renewable energy developer.
